Jacob Roy is a biology junior.

He chose to attend UTD after hearing about the research, academic programs and scholarship opportunities. Now he’s on the pre-med track and fast track to earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in five years. He plans to earn his master’s in public administration (MPA) at UTD before applying to medical school.

Jacob loves being involved on campus. He currently works as a Team Leader in the Orientation Leader program and as a Road Warriors freshman mentor to help create a built-in community for students who commute to campus. Outside of work and taking care of his two dogs, he’s involved in organizations like the Student Ambassadors, Kesem at UT Dallas, Comets HELP and immunoengineering research in the Jones lab.
