Ovy is a PhD candidate in mechanical engineering.

As a student from Bangladesh, he chose UT Dallas to pursue his doctorate in mechanical engineering because of its prestigious faculty, incredible research prospects and facilities, scholarship opportunities, and for its diversity and inclusiveness.

Ovy has already published five peer-reviewed journal articles stemming from his work on multiple funded research projects. He has also won the Best Teaching Assistant award for the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2022 and 2023 for extraordinary support given to undergraduate students.

He is interested in pursuing a career in additive manufacturing and soft robotics, and last summer he has worked as an additive manufacturing intern at ASTM International. Outside of his studies, he is a part of the Bangladeshi Student Organization (BSO).
