Xavier’s Day
Xavier Ferrell is a healthcare studies junior.
He joined UT Dallas for the academics and now also enjoys playing basketball for Comet sports. This makes scheduling his classes a bit more difficult. Xavier says he has to keep several hours open during the day for practices and training, but he thinks playing on the team is more than worth his 8:30 a.m. classes.
Outside of classes and basketball, Xavier works part time for University Recreation (UREC) and recently announced the intramural games. Sometimes part-time work as a student is unavoidable, and Xavier has made the best out of it and found something on campus that he has a knack for. Since he’s on campus quite a bit, Xavier has found some of the best study spots around. His current favorite is inside the new Engineering and Computer Science West building. Even though he doesn’t have any classes there, he likes to enjoy the space and take the time to open up his books and get one step closer to a becoming a physical therapist.
Follow Xavier around on a typical Wednesday where he aces an exam, gets some strength training in, meets up with friends and works at UREC.
